All Things Coconut-y

Hello friends, Happy Friday!

Originally, I wanted to update you on what I got from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and what I think of them so far, but I have yet to receive some of my online orders. So hopefully I'll post that sometime next week. Starting today, the Anniversary Sale is now available to everyone until 8/6 and you can see my wishlist here.

Instead, I'm sharing with you my current and old favorites for all things coconut-y, which I'm even more obsessed with in the summer! I tried to pick items that smells coconut-y, rather than other scents mixed with coconut. I've rounded up some face, body, hair products (including my current favorite DIY hair mask) as well as some coconut snacks!

1. GLAMGLOW THIRSTYMUD Hydrating Treatment ($69 for 1.7oz): This mask smells amazing and is so moisturizing, especially if you leave it on overnight. But once I'm done, I'll be switching to this Yes to Coconut Ultra Hydrating Facial Mask 2 oz ($15.99), which is more natural and much cheaper! The only downside is you have to wash it off (See how lazy I am?). I love the scent of the Yes to Coconut line and you can check out the entire line here.

2. Yes to Coconut Protecting Hand and Cuticle Cream 3 oz ($5.99): My mom and I are obsessed with this hand cream! It's moisturizing, smells great and absorbs well. I cannot recommend this enough!

3. Desert Essence Coconut Body Wash 8 oz ($5.49): This is like a tropical getaway in your shower! You can also find this at your local Sprout's.

4. Jason Smoothing Coconut Hand & Body Lotion 8 oz ($9.99, also available on Amazon): This is very moisturizing, but it does take a little rubbing in. Once it's absorbed, it sets and doesn't feel tacky at all.

5. ESTÉE LAUDER Bronze Goddess Eau Fraîche Skinscent ($75 for 3.4 oz): To me, this smells very warm and cozy, in addition to coconut-y of course. So I tend to wear this more in the fall/winter, when I'm craving for summer again. Some people describe this as a summer/beachy perfume, but I tend to wear Bobbi Brown "Beach" in the summer, which smells just like Coppertone sunscreen!

6. Juice Organics Repairing Hair Mask 6.75 oz ($9.99): This one doesn't have a strong coconut scent, but it's an amazing hair mask! I'm so glad Target started carrying Juice Organics, which I could no longer find at ULTA. I'm using up a deluxe-sized SheaMoisture one, but will be repurchasing this as soon as I finish. I also use Juice Organics shampoo and conditioner.

7. Alba Botanica Hawaiian Leave-in Conditioning Mist Drink it Up Coconut Milk 8 oz ($6.09): Almost done with this one. I spray this after applying Argan oil to my ends.

8. DIY Coconut Hair Mask:
I love using coconut oil as a hair treatment, but it's a little greasy for me in the summer. So I mix it with coconut water 1:1. Coconut oil is a liquid at 24 °C/76 °F, which makes it easier to mix and use in the summer. I find 1/3 cup of this mixture is enough for my hair, but you might need more or less depending on your hair length.

How I Use It:
  • Dampen the bottom section of my hair with water.
  • Apply the mixture to the bottom section, focusing on the ends. Do it over the tub!
  • Twist my hair into a bun and leave it on for at least 20min before I shower. But the longer, the better!
  • You can also cover your head with a shower cap.

9. Dang® Lightly Salted Coconut Chips 3.17 oz ($4.49): I get the unsweetened version to really taste the coconut flavor. It's very crunchy, good on it's own or with other toppings on your smoothie bowl. You can also get them from your local Sprout's.

10. Trader Joe's Organic Toasted Coconut Granola ($3.99 at your local Trader Joe's): This is my latest obsession from Trader Joe's! I love topping my smoothie bowl with this. It's so crunchy and coconut-y! Go get you some and you can thank me later! ;) Read more about it here.

There are so many more coconut-y products out there that I want to try. For example, I've heard great reviews about this Kopari Coconut Body Glow ($42). So when I found out Anthropologie is having 20% off full-price items this weekend, I ordered it immediately. I could always use more summer glow ;).

I hope you'll try out some of these coconut-y products yourself. Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend! :)
