I had really bad bug bites on my legs last year (See how I made a natural bug spray this year here). Although they look much better this year, I'm still very self-conscious to wear shorter dresses. So maxi dresses and jumpsuits have been my go-to's, unless it's 100 degrees out. I've getting a lot of wear (and compliments!) out of this jumpsuit. The black and white polka dots go with everything and the wide leg still keeps it breezy. They do run big and I ended up getting a size 2. I'm 5'6" (okay, 5'5.5"...) and they were full-length on me. They are a little tricky to get on; I find it easier to pull it up one arm at a time. Overall, I think this is a very versatile piece and definitely recommend it if you can still get it at your local Anthro!
3. My Rainbow Nails:
I always look forward to painting my nails at the end of every work trip, because we can't wear nail polishes in manufacturing facilities. These nails are so easy to do, yet make such a big statement! I received so many compliments on these! I touched them up with more top coat every 2-3 days and they lasted a week. You can see how I did them here.
4. SUNDAY RILEY Luna Sleeping Night Oil ($55 for 0.5oz, $105 for 1oz):
I've been using this since I got back from China (Read about my hometown, Yantai here). I've used it a few years ago and I have to say, I really missed it! It contains retinol, which serves as an exfoliator to help with skin regeneration. The oil is green (as shown above), but the color goes away once you rub it into your skin. I use this every other night and have noticed that my skin is smoother and plumper. My overall complexion is brighter and my acne scars are lighter. I even bring a small bottle with me during work trips and it keeps my skin hydrated and glowing. It's certainly pricey, but I think it's worth the investment! Just make sure to wear sunscreen during the day.
5. BECCA X Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette ($46):
I've been debating about getting this for a while, as I already have quite a few Becca highlighters. Don't get me wrong, I love them! But is this one really different enough for me to justify? One day, I went to Sephora Inside JCPenny to swatch it (again) and finally decided to treat myself for my birthday. Turns out, it was different! The highlight, Beach Nectar, is more peachy and subtle than others. The entire palette is beautiful, especially with a tan! I apply the bronzer, Malibu Soleil, on my eyes and pad a little Rose Gold on top. I then apply the bronzer, blush and Beach Nectar on my face. This creates a warm, bronzed and glowy look. If you love Chrissy Teigen or a big fan of Becca, you won't be disappointed!
6. One Love Organics Gardenia + Tea Antioxidant Body Serum ($39):
I love using oils as moisturizers. But in the summertime, I don't want to feel greasy. This body serum is light, easy to spread and absorbs well. On top of that, the scent is amazing! The floral scent is fresh, but not overwhelming. I got this from a limited edition Naturals Box from Birchbox last year and I will definitely be repurchasing once I run out.
7. Trader Joe's Jute Tote ($2.99):
Dimensions: 17" x 13.5" x 8.5" (L x W x H)
This Jute tote holds so much (dimensions above) and feels very durable. It's much bigger and cheaper than all the other grocery bags I've seen -- Best $3 I've ever spent! If you also need a large grocery bag, look no further!
8. Gary Malin's Instagram:
I don't know why it took me so long to finally follow him on Instagram, considering how much I loved his "Beach" book ($24.09). His Instagram is the beach getaway you'd rather be at, especially during work hours :P.
9. Frosé:
I love my Frosé and slightly embarrassed about how often I drink them (umm.. all the time?!). I make mine with 3 frozen strawberries, 1 cup of Rosé, ice and voilà!
10. Debloating Smoothie:
In addition to the Breakfast Smoothie that I shared in my last favorites post, I've been obsessed with this one I customized from POPSUGAR. Here's my recipe:
- 1 cup of frozen (better yet, fresh) pineapple, papaya and mango
- 1/2 cucumber
- Handful of power greens
- 1/2 cup of coconut water
- 1/2 cup of coconut milk
- Optional: 1/2 scoop of protein
Sometimes, I add a little shredded coconut flakes (unsweetened) to make it extra coconut-y!
So these are all my favorites for the month of June. Thank you for stopping by and have a nice day! :)
