What's in my Travel Makeup Bag?

Hello friends, Happy Friday! :)

I will be packing again this weekend; we are flying back to the States Monday morning. Don't forget Mother's Day is this Sunday! If you need a few gift ideas, check out my gift guide here. Today, I'm sharing with you the makeup I've brought and been using for almost 3 weeks. You might have seen a few of them in my Sephora VIB Sale wishlist and recommendations and shopping haul. I will also update you on how I'm liking the new purchases so far.

I store my makeup in this Rifle Paper Co x LeSportsac cosmetic bag (cutest makeup bag ever!), which I purchased in Austin. It's a great size and color is very practical and worry-free. I pack this in my carry-on (except the CC cream, which I check in with the rest of my bigger toiletries), so it has a lower chance of getting crushed or broken during luggage handling.

I've organized everything into the following categories: Face, Eyes, Lips and Tools.

  1. Juice Beauty Stem Cellular CC Cream in Desert Glow ($39): The best CC cream I've used so far -- It adds moisture, just enough coverage and broad spectrum mineral SPF 30.
  2. Juice Beauty Phyto-Pigments Flawless Pressed Powder in 14 Sand ($32): Nice setting powder, but I hate the puff! It's not as soft and flexible as other puffs and absorbs quite a bit of product. I use a kabuki brush (3) to apply it instead.
  3. Trystal Self Tanning Bronzing And Kabuki Brush Duo ($55, got on sale for $22.99): I completely agree with other reviews that this is messy. I peeled the tape off half of the holes (see below) and I still get more product than I need. As far as the bronzing powder goes, I love how natural, blendable and buildable it is. I've been using this as my bronzer every day, but it hasn't developed into a gradual tan, which it claims to do and last up to 5 days. The kabuki brush it comes with is very soft and blends well. Final thought: Since I got this at the sale price, I will continue to use it as a bronzer. However, I don't recommend it at full price or if you are looking for a gradual tanner.
  4. Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look in a Palette Beauty Glow ($75): Great for travelling and I've been really enjoying it so far! You can see swatches here
  5. BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Luminous Blush in Tigerlily ($34): Best shimmery coral blush -- no need for more highlight! Looks great with or without a tan.
BECCA Blush and Highlight (5 & 6): Swatched (left) and Blended (right)
  6. BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Prismatic Amethyst ($38): I've been a huge fan of Becca highlighters and this one is becoming my new favorite. It's like fairy dust on your face and it lasts pretty well. Highly recommend for spring and summer!

  1. RMS Beauty "Un" Cover-Up in 11 ($36): I use this as my under-eye concealer with my beauty blender (2). Also purchased from Anthropologie.
  2. beautyblender pro ($20): I think it's a necessity in anyone's collection and it's always a better deal to get it in a set like this ($49).
  3. Brow pencil and setting gel from Benefit Cosmetics Soft & Natural Brow Kit in 03 Medium ($34) - I actually repurchased this set during the Sephora VIB Sale. The brow pencil is easy to use, natural-looking, blends and lasts well. It also has more product ($24, 0.01oz) compared to others in the same price range: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz ($21, 0.003oz) or Brow Definer ($23, 0.007oz) for example. The setting gels sets and lasts well without feeling hard or crispy to the touch.
  4. Eyeshadow Sticks:
  5. Dior Fusion Mono Eyeshadow in Chimére ($31): I love layering this over the Laura Mercier Rose Gold color for a little more sparkle.
  6. Mini Estée Lauder Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting Mascara ($27.50) from Gift with Purchase: This mascara makes me look like I'm wearing falsies.
  7. Mini Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes Mascara ($32) from Gift with Purchase: Backup mascara
  8. Mini Pacifica Eye Lining Pencil in Fringe ($10.99)** from a subscription box: The dark brown color is natural-looking and the formula is easy to smudge. I'm so glad to find a natural eye pencil that is affordable and performs well.
  9. Physicians Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum ($8.19)**: Similar to Kat Von D Tattoo Liner ($20), it's easy to apply and lasts well. I've used several of these.

  1. Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillow Talk ($34): The perfect "my lips but better" shade.
  2. Charlotte Tilbury 'Hot Lips' Lipstick in Secret Salma ($34): A rosy plum color.
  3. Juice Beauty Phyto-Pigments Luminous Lip Crayon ($22): A nude beige color in a comfortable-to-wear formula. This is my favorite shade of this lip crayon range.
  4. Charlotte Tilbury 'Lip Cheat' Re-Size & Re-Shape Lip Liner in Pillowtalk ($22): The best lip liner!
  5. Dior Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Plumping Gloss ($33): My favorite lip gloss -- It plumps, smells great and not sticky. It looks great on its own and I also love to top it over the pillow talk lip liner (4).

  1. Tarte Eyelash Curler: My color combo is no longer available, but you can still get it in this set ($18)
  2. Charlotte Tilbury Pencil Sharpener ($7)
  3. Silicon Brush Cleaner (TJ Maxx)
  4. Makeup Brushes:
** Target Promotion: Eligible for $5 gift card with a $20 personal care purchase (until 5/13).

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend! :)
