Hello friends, happy Labor Day Weekend!!
I'm so looking forward to sleeping in and going out for dim sum with my family. But you know I'll certainly be shopping as well! ;) A separate post on Labor Day Weekend sales will be up by 3 PM PDT. But first, ahem, we are talking about shoes!
The fact is, sometimes it's really hard to walk in a single woman's shoes. That's why we need really special ones now and then to make the walk a little more fun. -- Carrie Bradshaw, Sex and the City
Last Friday, I spilled that I got my first pair of Prada shoes! Today, I'll share with you the story and talk you through the background, details of this beauty, and show you how they look on me. So without further ado, here they are!
However, I was unable to find out the list price online, or even an archived page from major retailers. It made me wonder if they were ever available for commercial purchase. The sales associate estimated that the original price would be close to $1000, given that outlet prices are usually about 40% off retail. But she said I probably won't see anyone else wearing them.
I have seen this pair at the Prada Outlet a few times this year, but never tried them on due to the price. I love fun and funky pieces like this sometimes, which probably won't come as a surprise to you, if you have seen my latest Gucci purchase. So when I saw they were further reduced AND in my size at San Marcos Premium Outlet last week, I finally tried them on. Work trips clearly don't stop me from shopping.
I love the disk detailing at the bottom of the heel, which is very unique. The heel is not high, so I'll be comfortable walking around in them. The colors feel like spring and summer to me and for some reason, princess-y! Then I realized: It reminds me of Princess Peach!
I purchased them with a store credit from a purchase my mom and I returned two years ago (more on the return policy in "Details"). In other words, I've been looking at Prada shoes for the last two years and finally found one I love AND in my size!
After talking to the sales associate and spending a good deal of time online, I found out they are from last year's Spring Collection. Here are the models wearing the exact one on the Runway:

This style also comes in various colors, heights, and some also with ball detailing. Check out the Spring 2016 Ready-to-Wear Collection here.

I've clearly worn them around the house a little bit. |
- Made in Italy
- Leather upper, lining, and sole
- Heel height: ~ 3"
- Pink velcro pull strap
- 3 gold think ankle straps
Here are the dust bags, care instructions, and the little blue card with the shoe information inside the box. It was all in Italian, wasn't really helpful. As mentioned earlier, I wasn't able to find too much about it online.

Due to all the traveling recently, I haven't gotten a chance to style them with pieces from my closet. So here are the pictures I took from the outlet:
So there you have it! I hope you enjoyed taking a look at my first pair of Prada shoes. Check back for a Labor Day Weekend sales roundup at some of my favorite stores at 3 PM! :)
